Commitment:
Every neighborhood in District 3 deserves to have its voice heard at City Hall.
NorthRiver Community
Located along the northern edge of the city near Lake Tuscaloosa, the NorthRiver area is known for its beautiful residential neighborhoods, strong schools, and family-oriented quality of life.
Key Issues
• Traffic congestion along major corridors leading into the city
• Protecting the character of established neighborhoods
• Infrastructure improvements and road maintenance
• Access to recreational amenities and outdoor spaces
• Responsible development near residential areas
Commitments to NorthRiver
• Advocate for improved traffic management and road maintenance along NorthRiver corridors.
• Protect residential neighborhoods from incompatible high-density development.
• Support continued investment in parks, green space, and recreational amenities.
• Work with city planners to ensure growth near the area complements existing neighborhoods.
• Strengthen communication between residents and city leadership through regular neighborhood meetings.
NorthRiver should remain one of Tuscaloosa’s most desirable places to live, and growth must be managed in a way that protects the character and stability of these neighborhoods.
The historic Forest Lake area, near the campus of University of Alabama, is a unique
neighborhood that blends historic homes, student housing, and family residences.

• Preservation of historic homes and neighborhood character

Forest Lake’s historic charm and proximity to the university make it one of the most unique neighborhoods in Tuscaloosa. Protecting that character while managing growth will be a top priority.

• Expand opportunities for arts, culture, and community events downtown.
